GBTA Australia & New Zealand Announce Appointment to Board

Resources Buyer from Linc Energy to Support Leading Sector Focus

Brisbane, Australia, 2012-11-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—today announced a new appointment to the GBTA AUS/NZ Advisory Board to support the region’s activity in the Energy & Resources sector.

As the Global Travel Manager at Linc Energy, Sonya Lowry manages 300 travellers worldwide and a budget of $8 million per year. With previous experience at Marriott and Flight Centre, both in Australia and New Zealand, Ms. Lowry brings invaluable attributes to the team. In 2012 she won both GBTA’s prestigious international Mike Kabo Award and the AUS/NZ Professional Travel Manager Award.

Ms. Lowry will join Ms. Telfer and fellow board members from QBT, conTgo, Travel Procure and the Department of Defence to advise GBTA on its membership expansion, education and training delivery, research and events.

The appointment forms part of the increased activity and development of activity for the Energy & Resources sector, including the recent GBTA Aus/NZ Energy & Resources Travel Symposium 2012 in Perth.
