Eat, drink and enjoy Lanai at inaugural food and wine festival

Epicureans and wine connoisseurs are invited to uncork the event with four oenophilic driven days of exquisite food and wine pairings matched with a luxurious Hawaii getaway to the private island of Lanai.

Wine country will journey from the California coast to the sandy shores of Lanai. The event will feature six elite wineries from Sonoma, Napa Valley and Paso Robles, including Husic Estate, O’Shaughnessy Estate with Capiaux Cellars, Buccella, Jarvis, L’Aventure, and Blackbird Vineyards. While the event is inspired by cabernet, pairings will include all vines.

The schedule of events include:

• Welcome Reception – Thursday, December 13, 2012, 5:30-7:00 pm. The festival kicks off at The Challenge at Manele’s famed tee box overlooking the Pacific Ocean with an intimate welcome reception with the wineries. USD 85.00 per person.
• Charity Golf Tournament – Friday, December 14, 2012, 8:00 am. Tee off to a wine infused weekend with a charity golf tournament, benefiting the Lanai Cancer Fund at the Jack Nicklaus-designed masterpiece The Challenge at Manele. USD 125.00 per person
• Wine Tasting Alfresco – Friday, December 14, 2012, 2:00-4:00 pm. Enjoy an afternoon of complimentary wine tasting at the Resort’s Hale Iki poolside cabanas.
• Passport Lanai: Food & Wine Journey – Friday, December 14, 2012, 6:00-9:00 pm. Take a culinary journey of the islands with an interactive evening featuring live cooking stations from Lanai’s top chefs, complimented by exquisite wine pairings. USD 125.00 per person.
• Wine Seminar – Saturday, December 15, 2012, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00-4:00 pm. Enjoy an afternoon with two in-depth complimentary terroir seminars in the Hale Ahe Ahe Lounge.
• Lanai Cabernet Classic Wine Dinner – Saturday, December 15, 2012, 6:00-9:00 pm. Savor an exquisite six-course tasting menu with perfect pairings selected from the elite wineries and prepared by Executve Chef Kevin Erving. USD 175.00 per person.
• Champagne Brunch – Sunday, December 16, 2012, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Wake up to an extraordinary day on Lanai with a decadent Champagne brunch with the winemakers. USD 55.00 per person.
• Sunset Winemaker Luau – Sunday, December 16, 2012, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Savour an afternoon of authentic Hawaiian cuisine, wine stations and a traditional Polynesian performance, oceanside at the Luau Gardens. USD 150.00 per person.

Advance reservations are recommended for the highly-anticipated festival and may be reserved based on individual events or as a package.
