Toronto, Canada, 2018-Oct-03 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Hotel Toronto announces three new additions to its decorated senior management team.
The company flagship welcomes Giannicola Colucci as its new Executive Chef, overseeing the Hotel’s entire food and beverage program, including banquet operations. Known for his creative culinary storytelling and a passion for local produce, Colucci brings over two decades of gathered global experience to his role.
Colucci has developed his culinary skills over many years of working in various upscale restaurants and luxury hotels around the world. No matter where Colucci has found himself in his career, he remains true to the “farm to table” values instilled in him since childhood. “What is most important to me in every dish I create is that my guests are able to taste each ingredient and savour its unique flavour and scent,” says Colucci. “I want them to truly appreciate where each ingredient comes from.”
Calucci was introduced to North America’s taste for Italian cuisine fairly early on in his career while working with beloved Italian Chef Lidia Bastianich at her flagship restaurant Felidia in New York. He made his return to the US for his most recent appointment as the Executive Chef of Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. It was in this role that he led the culinary team at the hotel’s Italian restaurant Cielo and spearheaded banqueting operations.
In Colucci’s last appointment in St. Louis, he built a reputation in the kitchen by adding personal touches that reflected different regions of his Italian roots. However, it is not just his Italian heritage that continues to inspire his culinary ventures. Raised in Turin Piedmont, Italy, only 100 kilometres (62 miles) from France, he has also been heavily influenced by French cuisine. His expertise and background perfectly complement the classic flavours of French cuisine that the Hotel’s guests have become accustomed to at on-property restaurant Café Boulud Toronto.
Four Seasons Hotel Toronto has also made two other appointments to its leadership team, with Salar Alemi as Director of Marketing and Chad Merced as Director of Rooms.
Although new to Four Seasons, Alemi is no stranger to the world of hospitality. He joins the team from the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, where he spent several years climbing the ranks with a sharp focus in sales. His many notable roles there included senior sales manager, director of corporate sales, director of sales, and finally culminating with his current role as Director of Marketing.
Having recently celebrated a decade with the company, Merced is a Four Seasons veteran who has held various positions within the rooms division. All of this experience led to his promotion as Director of Guest Services at Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and then on to Assistant Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Denver. Merced has also spent time at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts corporate office as operations lead worldwide, working with the guest recognition team, as well as assisting with task force opportunities in New York and Chicago.
“Over decades of building on our reputation in the birthplace of the brand, our guests have come to expect an elevated level of service from check-in to check-out, through the rooms, activities and of course the food,” says Konrad Gstrein, General Manager. “Our executive team is full of exceptional leaders and I can say with full confidence that they will help guide each of their divisions to uphold the level of service synonymous with Four Seasons. ”
The three new appointments to the senior management team at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto will undoubtedly continue to enhance the property as a whole and cement the Hotel as Yorkville’s leading luxury destination.
