Nadi, Fiji, 2022-Jun-21 — /Travel PR News/ — Fiji Airways, Fiji’s national airline, scored two big wins at the Onboard Hospitality Awards held this week at the World Travel Catering Expo (WTCE) in Hamburg, Germany –– receiving the awards for ‘Best for Wellbeing Onboard’ and ‘Best for Kids Kit Onboard’.
As part of its ‘Travel Ready’ programme introduced in June 2020, Fiji Airways created Customer Wellness Champions –– a new onboard role for medically qualified personnel who manage and maintain passenger wellbeing and medical safety. At the height of the pandemic and through Fiji’s re-opening, these Customer Wellness Champions employed world-leading COVID-safety practices that offered priceless peace of mind to returning citizens and, later on, visitors. The airline’s in-house teams developed the Award Winning Travel Ready programme in close cooperation with Fijian Health Authorities, the World Health Organisation, IATA and ICAO.
Additionally, Fiji Airways’ “Our Ocean, Our Life” in-flight children’s activities pack received the award for Best Kids Kit. The kit is dedicated to educating travellers between the ages of 2 and 12 on the importance of preserving and protecting Fiji’s beautiful yet fragile marine environment by telling the story of Saboo the sea turtle and his ocean friends. Each kit includes a storybook, sticker pad, puzzle and finger puppet in a colourful beach bag.
