“We are extremely proud to recommence commercial flights between New Zealand and Fiji after two years. And are excited to give our Kiwi whānau and friends a big bula welcome back onboard, safely transporting them to a well-deserved vacation in Fijian paradise,” explains Fiji Airways Managing Director & CEO Andre Viljoen.

“The safety of our guests and crew will always be our highest priority. Our entire workforce is fully vaccinated and boosted and we have implemented an award-winning Travel Ready programme dedicated to the safety and wellness of our guests and staff,” says Viljoen.

“We have medically-qualified Customer Wellness Champions onboard every international flight to offer medical guidance and assistance if required. We are the only airline in the Australia-Pacific region to offer this service, as well as the only in the region to achieve a Skytrax 5-Star COVID Safety rating and the highest Hospital Grade “Diamond” certification by APEX Health and Safety,” states Viljoen.

Fiji Airways return flight prices start from $549 NZD per person economy class and $1,190 NZD per person business class. Since resuming international flights from 1st December 2020, Fiji Airways has implemented a suite of new products and benefits to enhance the experience of its guests including increased standard baggage allowance from 23kg to 30kg for economy class passengers on all international flights.

Onboard dining has been given a rehaul with the appointment of renowned Fijian-New Zealand Chef Richard Cross now overseeing all catering functions across the airline. Fiji Airways has also introduced a new suite of highly rated wines from renowned international wine regions.

Fiji Airways is the first airline in the Asia Pacific region to offer this service and guests are able to read and download their favourite titles 96 hours prior to departure, until 24 hours after the flight.

Fiji Airways has also focused on new ways to entertain its younger passengers onboard with the launch of Our Ocean, Our Life. The complimentary in-flight activity pack and book series, for passengers aged 2-12 years old, is dedicated to educating the future generation on the importance of preserving and protecting Fiji’s fragile marine environment, in a fun and engaging way.

To ensure a stress-free trip from the offset, Fiji Airways international check-in counters currently open four (4) hours prior to departure and close two (2) hours prior to departure. The new check in times are designed to minimise delays and allow ample time for increased documentation checks.
