Express bus service between IND and downtown Indianapolis to continue

Nonstop service provides convenient access to locations near major downtown hotels and the Indiana Convention Center

INDIANAPOLIS, 2012-09-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) has reached an arrangement with Go Express Travel to maintain express, non-stop bus service between the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and downtown Indianapolis. The service was previously known as IndyGo’s Green Line, which has been discontinued with the expiration of federal grant funding.

Effective today, the new non-stop service operated by Go Express Travel will run twice per hour on the half hour between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Fares are $10 per passenger each way.

The route runs between the IND’s Ground Transportation Center and the central downtown area with an estimated 15-minute travel time, providing convenient access to dozens of hotels and the Indiana Convention Center. Airport customers can access the new non-stop service to downtown at IND’s Ground Transportation Center at Zone 1. From
downtown, passengers traveling to the airport can board the service from the following points: The Indiana Convention Center; the Omni Severin; Illinois and Market; Ohio and Illinois; Ohio and Pennsylvania; Washington and Meridian; Embassy Suites; Washington and Senate; the Marriott Complex; West and Henry; and Missouri and South.

IndyGo’s Route 8 Washington Street cross-town also serves IND seven days a week. Westbound buses to the airport stop along Ohio Street, walking distance from several downtown hotels. At the airport’s Ground Transportation Center, downtown-bound passengers can board Route 8 at Zone 6.
