LUTON, England, 2019-Sep-25 — /Travel PR News/ — easyJet has today announced that it will be holding drop in sessions for Thomas Cook employees and bolstering its planned upcoming recruitment days in order to be able to accommodate more applicants from Thomas Cook.
The airline has also reached out to Thomas Cook employees to encourage them to apply for positions and attend the days. easyJet has around 200 cabin crew positions and 20 co-pilot positions to fill for the coming year. A number of roles are also being advertised at easyJet’s London Luton Airport headquarters.
For affected Thomas Cook customers, easyJet is assisting with the CAA’s repatriation effort to provide a fully crewed A320 aircraft which is operating two repatriation flights a day to support the repatriation effort.
The airline is also offering a 15% discount for future travel for customers who had bookings with Thomas Cook which can no longer be fulfilled.*
Commenting on the recruitment drive, Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, said:
“Everyone at easyJet is saddened by the news about Thomas Cook and we understand the anxiety that both customers and employees will be feeling. I am pleased we have been able to help the repatriation effort by providing an aircraft to bring UK holidaymakers back to the UK and rescue fees for those affected in Europe.
“As part of our ongoing recruitment drive we still have opportunities for around 200 cabin crew across our network along with a number of roles which are available at our London Luton Airport headquarters and for our easyJet Holidays team and so we are encouraging Thomas Cook employees to apply. We’ll be holding drop-in sessions for Thomas Cook employees around the UK, as well as expanding some of our existing scheduled assessment centres to be able to see more crew.
“We know that Thomas Cook’s people will be a great addition to the easyJet team and we look forward to meeting many of them in the coming weeks.”
The drop in sessions across the country are as follows:
