Discover “China’s Terracotta Warriors” At The Asian Art Museum With Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco

Hong Kong, 2013-02-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco is delighted to offer guests access to the prestigious new exhibition “China’s Terracotta Warriors: The First Emperor’s Legacy,” on view at San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum from February 22 through May 27, 2013. This rare U.S. exhibition, organized by the Asian Art Museum in partnership with the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau and Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Centre, People’s Republic of China, will publicly showcase Emperor Qin Shihuang’s (259-210BC) attempts to conquer death and achieve immortality.

The unique exhibition features 120 exceptional objects from the great tomb complex of China’s First Emperor Qin Shihuang, including 8 life-size Terracotta Warriors and 2 horses. Captivating the world since its discovery in 1974, the First Emperor’s tomb complex is one of the largest burial sites ever constructed, taking 700,000 labourers nearly 40 years to build. Perhaps most impressive are the estimated 8,000 terracotta figures excavated to date including warriors of all ranks, acrobats, musicians, and horses.

To celebrate the exhibition opening, Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco is delighted to offer the “Terracotta Warriors” travel package, featuring luxurious accommodation, a keepsake about the exhibit, and special access to the exhibition at the Asian Art Museum. The “Terracotta Warriors” package includes:
