Discover Airlines Flyers and Cologne Region Passengers Can Now Book Lufthansa’s Door-to-Door Luggage Service

Discover Airlines Flyers and Cologne Region Passengers Can Now Book Lufthansa’s Door-to-Door Luggage Service

(IN SHORT) Lufthansa, in collaboration with Airportr, has expanded its door-to-door luggage collection and check-in service to passengers traveling by train from Cologne and Siegburg/Bonn to Frankfurt Airport. Discover Airlines flyers may now also book the streamlined experience in both Frankfurt and Cologne. Passengers simply schedule home or hotel pick-ups up to 36 hours before departure; their sealed bags are transported, checked in at the airport, and tracked in real time via a personalized link. This premium solution, already active in numerous German metro areas since February, helps travelers bypass lugging suitcases through public transport and go straight to security, collecting their baggage only at the journey’s end. Pricing starts at €29, subject to location and timing, and bookings can be made online up to 36 hours prior to departure.

(PRESS RELEASE) COLOGNE, Germany, 2025-Jun-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Lufthansa is broadening its pioneering luggage pick-up and check-in service in partnership with technology provider Airportr. Previously exclusive to departures from Frankfurt Airport, this hassle-free offering now extends to train travelers journeying to Frankfurt from the greater Cologne and Siegburg/Bonn regions. Discover Airlines customers may also take advantage of the service in both Frankfurt and Cologne.

The concept is straightforward and traveler-centric: passengers arrange to have their suitcases collected at their home or hotel up to 36 hours before departure. Each bag is sealed, securely transported to the airport, and checked in on the passenger’s behalf. Users receive live status updates through a personalized tracking link, along with a digital receipt that doubles as their baggage tag. By offloading their luggage early, travelers can head directly to security upon arriving at the airport and simply retrieve their checked bags at their destination.

This premium service not only saves time but also streamlines journeys—especially for those using public transport. Since February, residents of the wider Frankfurt, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Darmstadt, and Bensheim areas have benefited from Airportr’s curbside collection. Effective immediately, Lufthansa Express Rail passengers in Cologne, Bonn, Leverkusen, Hürth, and Brühl can book the service starting from just €29, with rates varying by pick-up location and timing.

To reserve baggage collection, guests can visit lufthansa.com up to 36 hours before their flight.
