Jury of the International Hospitality Awards for Northern Europe recognises Deutsche Hospitality for its successful acquisition of Zleep Hotels
Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2019-May-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Deutsche Hospitality has gained its first Scandinavian branch award. At the Nordic Hotel Investment Conference in Copenhagen, Deutsche Hospitality won an NHC Award for its successful takeover of the Scandinavian hotel group Zleep Hotels. The NHC Conference Award recognises companies which have played a leading role in the hotel sector and have made a major contribution to the development of the Nordic hotel market.
In its statement, the jury drew attention to the effective acquisition of 51 percent of the shares of the family-run Zleep Hotels by the German company. “The takeover of Zleep Hotels is the first transaction of this kind to be completed by an international provider in the Nordic countries. Zleep Hotels offers strong potential for growth, both in Scandinavia and internationally.” This prestigious branch award for Northern Europe was conferred on innovative and pioneering companies in the international hospitality industry at the Nordic Hotel Investment Conference on 8 and 9 May 2019.
“We are delighted to receive this award, because Zleep Hotels are the perfect addition to our brand portfolio,” said Deutsche Hospitality’s CEO Thomas Willms, who attended the Nordic Hotel Investment Conference in Copenhagen. “This new brand and the locations in Denmark and Sweden will enable us to expand our presence in important areas and thus offer our customers an even wider network.”
The Zleep Hotels portfolio currently includes ten hotels in Denmark and one in Sweden. Four further hotels are at the specific planning stage. The Zleep Hotels Group is based in Denmark, where it operates in the economy segment. The company was founded by Peter Haaber in 2003. The brand is characterised by service, quality and Scandinavian friendliness.
