Charlotte, North Carolina, 2021-Apr-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Airport Community Partnerships will present the second CLT Charity Golf Tournament May 3 at the Ballantyne Country Club. The sold-out event features 144 golfers.
The 2021 tournament benefits the Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont’s Construction Skills Training Center and is expected to raise more than $55,000. Nearly 50 companies, including American Airlines, WSP and Talbert, Bright & Ellington, are sponsors.
The entire event will be held outside and follow CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines. This includes the wearing of masks, social distancing and sanitizing stations located in common areas.
Airport Community Partnerships (ACP) is comprised of companies that operate out of, are based in, or have business with Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The Airport and its business partners come together through the ACP to make a difference in the community. The inaugural golf tournament in 2019 raised more than $60,000 for Renaissance West Community Initiative. The 2020 tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont provides employment and career services at no cost as well as customer service, construction and technology training to support individuals entering the workforce, building skills or changing careers. The Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center trains adults in specialized areas like blueprint reading and estimating, HVAC/electrical and drone operation.
