Christchurch Airport recognized with Skytrax award for Best Regional Airport for Australia/Pacific

Christchurch, New Zealand, 2018-Mar-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Christchurch Airport has just been named one of the world’s best at the World Airport Awards in Stockholm.

The awards are voted by air travellers, this year based on 13.82 million airport survey questionnaires completed by 105 different nationalities of airline customers in 550 airports.

Airport Chief Executive Malcolm Johns says the Skytrax award for Best Regional Airport for Australia/Pacific reflects hard work by a dedicated team of people across the airport, the city, the region and the South Island.

“This is major recognition for years of hard work by our staff, who are a bunch of awesome people doing some seriously cool stuff. Working together can deliver great things and this is positive proof of that” he says.

“The Skytrax awards are the most prestigious accolades for the world airport industry because they are voted by air travellers, so this award recognises the service our teams offer people from the moment they leave their home to travel.

“The award reflects records set recently – our record year for the third in a row, all-time record busiest month in December,  highest number of international visitors in a month in January – which are all part of our overall passenger numbers destined for the South Island growing through the work we do with so many people across the island. The support we get from the
