CDA, Special Olympics Chicago and Southwest Airlines team up for the 7th Annual Midway Fly Away 5K Run/Walk fundraiser

CHICAGO, IL, 2019-Aug-14 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation, Special Olympics Chicago and Southwest Airlines are teaming up for the 7th Annual Midway Fly Away 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on September 8, 2019 at Midway International Airport.

The event offers runners and walkers of all fitness levels the opportunity to run/walk directly on the airfield. Included in the festivities is the “Midway Miler,” a race just for kids – ages 10 and under.

Registration is now open at SoChicago.org. At the registration website, participants can create a personal fundraising page for tax-deductible donations in support of year-round programs for the more than 7,500 Special Olympics athletes throughout Chicago.

Registration includes a T-shirt and post-race refreshments.

The Midway 5K Run/Walk steps off at 9 a.m. and the Midway Miler begins at 10 a.m. Free parking is available at the Midway Airport Economy Parking Lot located at 5050 West 55th Street in Chicago.

Shuttles will be running until 8:30 a.m. from the parking lot to the race site.
