Cathay Pacific welcomes HKSAR Government measures to strengthen the transport connectivity of Lantau with other cities in the Greater Bay Area

Hong Kong, China, 2018-Oct-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Cathay Pacific welcomes the commitment of the Hong Kong SAR Government of making its “Lantau Tomorrow Vision” a priority as outlined in the 2018 Policy Address given today by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, The Hon Mrs Carrie Lam.

The airline welcomes the Government’s measures to strengthen the transport connectivity of Lantau – home to Cathay Pacific and the Hong Kong International Airport – with other cities in the Greater Bay Area, making Lantau a “Double Gateway” to the world.

A Cathay Pacific spokesperson said: “We are encouraged by the many transport infrastructure development initiatives linking the airport island. The creation of the Lantau Aerotropolis connecting the Greater Bay Area and the world will help further strengthen and enhance Hong Kong’s position as an international business and aviation hub.

On transport and logistics in particular, Cathay Pacific supports the Government’s measures to the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund to nurture young talents, and look forward to the development of a premium logistics centre which will facilitate e-commerce trade flows.
