Carlson Rezidor further strengthens its presence in Estonia by announcing the Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Tallinn

BRUSSELS, 2015-5-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Carlson Rezidor, one of the most dynamic hotel groups worldwide and the leading international operator in Russia/CIS & Baltics, further strengthens its presence in Estonia by announcing the Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Tallinn. The 465-rooms property, formerly known as Meriton Grand Conference & Spa Hotel, will fly the Park Inn by Radisson flag on 1st June 2015 and join Carlson Rezidor’s core mid-market brand. It brings the group’s total portfolio in Estonia to 4 hotels with 1,380 rooms. All across the Baltics, Carlson Rezidor will now operate 14 hotels with 3,488 rooms.

“We are delighted to continue the hotel’s successful history under the Park Inn by Radisson brand. Due to its excellent location and extensive meeting and spa facilities, the property attracts business and leisure guests alike and ideally complements our existing Park Inn by Radisson and two Radisson Blu hotels in the city”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor.

“For more than 15 years the Meriton Grand Conference & Spa Hotel has operated extremely effectively and gained an excellent reputation in the Tallinn market. Looking forward we identified a fruitful opportunity to work together with a global hotel brand and are privileged to partner with Carlson Rezidor, the most prominent hotel group in the Baltics. The combination of our local prominence and Carlson Rezidor’s strength in Estonia’s feeder markets such as the Nordics and Russia very much make this a logical combination”, commented Peedu Zeiger, Chairman of the Board of Meriton Hotels AS.

The Park Inn by Radisson Meriton is situated in the heart of Tallinn – adjacent to the Old Town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The property also overlooks Toompea Castle, an ancient monument housing the Parliament of Estonia. A number of Embassies, the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence and Tallinn University are also in close proximity. Tallinn’s Old City Harbour, one of the busiest passenger ports of the Baltic Sea, is 2km away from the hotel; the international airport 5km.

Besides 465 guest rooms the hotel offers an all-day dining bistro, a Grill and a Russian restaurant as well as a café and 2 bars. Business travellers benefit from 14 conference rooms on more than 1,100sqm – the largest room can accommodate 380 delegates. With a surface of almost 2,800sqm, the property has the largest spa & leisure facilities of any hotel in the city.

Originally built in 1963, the hotel was reconstructed with a new wing in 1999 and totally refurbished in 2007. Under the Park Inn by Radisson brand, part of the hotel will undergo a further renovation in 2015/16.

The Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Tallinn will be operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group.
