Head Sommelier Winn Roberton at BOURBON STEAK has an unquenchable enthusiasm for his job and career in wine. At the helm of one of the most highly regarded wine lists in the city, Roberton led the team to a 2018 James Beard semi-finalist nomination for Outstanding Wine Program. His philosophy is that there must be “something for everyone,” made possible with a 39-page wine list, 50 wines available by the glass, and almost every wine producing country represented. And, for the more price conscious yet curious imbibers, half glasses of wine are always available.
Roberton and the sommelier team including Chris Coker and Roberto Piccardo are passionately committed to not only continuing their education, but that of the entire team. Currently, BOURBON STEAK has five staff members preparing to sit for the Court of Master Sommeliers’ Introductory Sommelier Exam – even more impressive, the five going represent different positions within the restaurant, including two servers, a cocktail waitress, a captain, and a manager, proving it’s not just the list at BOURBON STEAK that makes the wine program, but the passion and dedication of the people behind it.
The extensive wine list also includes a “Secrets of the Sommelier” page promising carefully curated selections.
