BODYHOLIDAY ST LUCIA DEDICATES MARCH TO MASTERING THE ART OF SAILING – SPRING SAIL IS BACK

sailing offers courses in BodyHoliday led by professional sailor

London, United Kingdom, 2022-Mar-09 — /Travel PR News/ — BodyHoliday St Lucia’s annual Spring Sail programme returns next month to offer curious visitors of all abilities the chance to explore this fun yet challenging sport under the guidance of an experienced Olympic sailor.

Spring Sail will run from 7th March to 1st April this year at BodyHoliday’s ASA accredited sailing school, with world-class athlete Briana Provancha in charge as this year’s instructor. Having learnt to sail at the age of eight, Briana is a professional sailor with 20+ years of experience in the sport, representing the United States in the 470 double-handed racing class, topping international sailing rankings in 2014, and competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Depending on their goals and experience, guests can enroll themselves in sailing lessons of different levels – from introductory tasters that cover basic sailing techniques and terminology, to more advanced classes guiding students to navigate and control racing yachts. Get ready to be thrown into the deep-end to learn all about winching, tacking, gybing, and more. Competitive sailing regattas will also be held to give guests a chance to flex their sailing talents and win trophies and prizes.

Research has found that being close to bodies of water is therapeutic in and of itself and that the sight and sound of water promotes wellness by lowering cortisol, increasing serotonin, and inducing relaxation, bringing us towards the state of the ‘Blue Mind,’ where we disconnect from worries and focus inward. The art of sailing improves balance too, in both the physical and holistic sense – learners can expect to find their body balance enhanced at the end of a sailing class as they wrestle and work with both the wind and the waves.

Sailing is also a sport with multiple proven health benefits, including increased agility, flexibility, and strength and stamina, all gleaned while enjoying unparalleled exuberance at sea. It is a form of fitness that awakens joy and playfulness and reminds us what it means to be carefree again.

The sailing school fleet at BodyHoliday comprises ‘Aurora Rose’ – a J-24 racer, ‘Blue’ and ‘Reef’ – state of the art X-TREME 26 race boats, in addition to a number of Hobie Cats and Hobie Cat 16s.

All programmes at BodyHoliday are highly personalised. Rates start from $385 per person per night on an all-inclusive basis, including various fitness activities, a daily spa treatment, all meals (some dishes and the I-TAL conscious eating experience at a supplement), drinks including premium brand bar drinks and champagne by the glass, personal instruction and tuition available for all sports, motorised and non-motorised watersports, nightly entertainm
