Bahrain International Airport (BIA) reported increase in passenger numbers during Eid Al Adha and Hajj season 1 – 20 October

Muharraq, Bahrain, 2013-10-22— / —  Bahrain International Airport (BIA) witnessed an increase in passenger numbers during Eid Al Adha and Hajj season, which occurred between the 1st and the 20th of October.

During that period, the airport received 13,752 pilgrims, including pilgrims from the Kingdom of Bahrain and transit pilgrims from other countries.

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) works hand-in-hand with its’ partners in the private and public sector to facilitate passengers’ movement during busy seasons and ensures safe and efficient travel experience.

Vice President of Airport Operations at BAC Mr. Mohammed Mohamed Thamir Al Kaabi extended appreciation to all employees at the airport for their hard work in facilitating the travel movement during one of the busiest times in the airport and catering to the needs of the pilgrims. Mr. Al Kaabi also extended his gratitude to the concerned parties and authorities involved for their active support.

This set to improve the Kingdom‘s aviation capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of BIA stakeholders. As a result, the airport won various internationally-renowned awards, most recently the SKYTRAX Award in 2013 for the Middle East’s Best Airport Staff. It has also received different nominations which ranked BIA in the SKYTRAX world’s top 100 airports.
