Lanna Garden Terrace Suite at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort
(IN SHORT) Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has launched the Lanna Garden Terrace Suite and rebranded its suite portfolio as Lanna Suites to strengthen the property’s connection to northern Thailand’s cultural identity. The new accommodation focuses on privacy, natural materials, and residential-style space, while the wider repositioning introduces curated experiences and design elements inspired by the Lanna heritage. The development highlights a shift toward more locally grounded luxury hospitality that blends contemporary comfort with cultural context.
(PRESS RELEASE) BANGKOK, Thailand, 2026-Feb-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Anantara Chiang Mai Resort has introduced a newly designed signature accommodation, the Lanna Garden Terrace Suite, alongside a broader repositioning of its suite collection under the name Lanna Suites. The initiative reflects a renewed emphasis on expressing the cultural character of northern Thailand through architecture, materials, and guest experience.
The Lanna Garden Terrace Suite, measuring 150 square metres, has been conceived as a quiet retreat within the urban setting of Chiang Mai. The layout centres on a private landscaped garden that extends the living space outdoors, creating a sense of calm and separation from the surrounding city. Natural materials, including teak finishes and layered textiles, are used throughout to evoke regional craftsmanship while maintaining a contemporary design language. The suite can also be combined with an adjacent Lanna Garden View Suite to form a larger residential-style arrangement suitable for families or extended stays.
Renaming the former Kasara Suites as Lanna Suites signals a move toward a more location-driven identity. The resort’s original design by the late architect Kerry Hill is known for its restrained modernism and sensitivity to local context, and the refreshed concept builds on that foundation by incorporating cultural references and tailored experiences that reflect the traditions of the historic Lanna kingdom.
Guest offerings linked to the suite collection include personalised arrival touches, curated cultural activities, and private dining options intended to create a closer connection to Chiang Mai’s heritage and daily life.
The resort itself sits along the Mae Ping River and integrates historic and contemporary elements. Its 1921 House, once the British Consulate, has been repurposed as a distinctive dining destination, while wellness programmes, river excursions, and cultural experiences are designed to immerse visitors in the region’s history and landscape.
Located approximately 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort combines accessibility with a tranquil setting, positioning itself as a base for exploring the city’s temples, craft traditions, and surrounding natural scenery.
