Extended flexibility offers travelers another way to purchase their tickets.
ANA joins the growing list of airlines incorporating PayPal as a method of digital payment at a time when PayPal is gaining more popularity in Asia.
TOKYO, JAPAN, 2018-Dec-14 — /Travel PR News/ — All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest and 5-star airline for six consecutive years, is expanding options for online booking by adding PayPal as a new payment method. The move comes as ANA aims to even further enhance its service which will allow the company to capture new customers.
As of Dec. 12, 2018, customers will be able to select PayPal as their preferred payment method on ANA’s website and app for international flights (and Japan domestic trips when booked at the same time as international flights.) This payment method will be available in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Cambodia, Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Switzerland.
While the use of PayPal will not impact ticket prices, ANA has opted to add the digital platform to open up new opportunities for tech-savvy consumers. PayPal now joins credit cards, ANA SKY Coins, convenience stores and bank transfers*1 as acceptable methods for online purchases.
“We are excited about taking another step to offer individually tailored services to passengers by adding PayPal to our list of payment options,” said Mitsuo Tomita, Executive Vice President of ANA. “PayPal is a significant global platform with over 250 million users all over the world, and we want to make traveling as convenient and accessible for them as possible.”
The decision by ANA to include PayPal as a payment option reflects its forward-looking drive for innovation and better service.
*1 Depending on the markets, payment by ANA SKY coins, convenience stores and bank transfers may not be available.
Following the “Inspiration of Japan” high quality of service, ANA has been awarded the respected 5-Star rating every year since 2013 from SKYTRAX. ANA is the only Japanese airline to win this prestigious designation six years in a row. Additionally, ANA has been recognized by Air Transport World as “Airline of the Year” three times in the past 10 years – 2007, 2013 and 2018, becoming one of the few airlines winning this prestigious award for multiple times.
ANA was founded in 1952 with two helicopters and has become the largest airline in Japan, as well as one of the most significant airlines in Asia, operating 78 international routes and 118 domestic routes. ANA offers a unique dual hub model which enables passengers to travel to Tokyo and connect through the two airports in the metropolitan Tokyo, NARITA and HANEDA, to various destinations throughout Japan, and also offers same day connections between various North American, Asian and Chinese cities.
ANA has been a member of Star Alliance since 1999 and has joint venture partnerships with United Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines, Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines.
Besides the full service and award winner carrier ANA, the ANA Group has two LCCs as consolidated subsidiaries, Vanilla Air Inc. and Peach Aviation Limited.
