Halifax, N.S. – 2012-10-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA), in cooperation with airport tenants and several public sector emergency response agencies from various levels of government, today hosted an emergency training exercise. The simulation replicated an emergency aircraft landing and terrorist threat.
The objectives of the exercise were to test Halifax Stanfield International Airport’s emergency plans and the multi-agency response to an airport incident, as well as to comply with aerodrome security measures.
“These exercises are an excellent opportunity to test our emergency plans, to interact with other agencies and to assess our response to a real-life situation,” says Gord Duke, HIAA’s Director Operations. “Overall, we were pleased with our performance and agency cooperation throughout the exercise, and we received insightful suggestions for improvements at the debriefing.”
