  • Air Partner organises six flights to the Philippines
  • Containing 600 tonnes of aid and supplies to support the aid effort

London, UK, 2013-11-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Air Partner, a Royal Warrant Holder and leading provider of aviation charter services to industry, commerce and governments worldwide, is working with aid agencies to transport emergency supplies to the Philippines to support the aid efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.

Air Partner has organised four Boeing 777 flights and 2 Boeing 747 flights so far, which will collectively carry 600 tonnes of aid, including Land Cruisers, tents, shelter kits and tarpaulins to assist with the aid effort on the ground. The flights will operate from the United Arab Emirates and East Midlands International to Mactan Cebu International Airport in the Philippines, and are part of a longstanding Air Partner contract to supply air charter for aid and support in times of crisis.

Richard Smith, Air Partner’s Product Director for Freight, said, “With emergency enquires starting to come into Air Partner’s UK head office on Sunday, the broking team has been working around the clock since then to get availability and options confirmed as quickly as possible. The specialist and extensive knowledge that we have at Air Partner meant we could react quickly in the aftermath of this devastating natural disaster and help get aid supplies to those in need. The advantage of being an international company with a global presence is that our overseas and UK offices are able to work together to find the quickest and most efficient response to situations like this.”

Air Partner has significant aid and crisis experience: In 2011, Air Partner worked around the clock to organise humanitarian aid flights carrying over 300 tonnes of aid and evacuating more than 12,000 people in just six weeks from across Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, New Zealand and Japan, when far-reaching and unprecedented political upheaval and devastating natural disasters coincided.

Air Partner is a valued supplier to many national and international organisations and provides aviation solutions to governments worldwide, including six of the G8 group of governments, NGOs and aid agencies, as well as international and UK royalty. It is the only company in the aviation industry to hold a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty the Queen as supplier of Aircraft Charter.
