(PRESS RELEASE) MONTREAL, CANADA, 2024-Nov-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Air Canada is expanding its intermodal travel options by introducing new rail and bus connections in Italy, Spain, Britain, and South Korea, providing customers with convenient onward land connections across Europe and Asia. Following the success of its initial intermodal strategy launched in December 2023 in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, Air Canada is now partnering with Trenitalia, Renfe, five UK rail operators including National Express, and KORAIL in South Korea. This expansion allows travelers to seamlessly connect their flights with ground travel options on a single itinerary, offering greater flexibility and sustainable choices for short-haul segments.

Enabled through a partnership with AccesRail, passengers can now book both air and land segments on the Air Canada website, making it easy to create a comprehensive travel plan. Customers can also check in for train or bus journeys through AccesRail, and in case of disruptions, Air Canada will rebook both air and land segments, ensuring a smooth experience.

In Italy, connections from Rome and Milan to Trenitalia’s extensive network allow passengers access to 30 destinations, including Florence and Naples. In Spain, connections from Barcelona and Madrid link to 24 locations across the country. In Britain, Air Canada travelers can now connect from London Heathrow to 32 rail destinations and 28 bus routes. In South Korea, travelers from Canada can continue their journey from Seoul to cities like Busan and Gwangju via high-speed rail.

Air Canada’s intermodal options now include major rail services in seven countries, offering seamless air-to-land itineraries for over 1,200 destinations worldwide.
