Aeroflot’s budget airline Pobeda recognized as one of the top 10 airlines in a global rating published by Skyscanner

Moscow, 2015-8-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Aeroflot’s budget airline Pobeda has been recognized as one of the top 10 airlines in a global rating published by kyscanner, a leading airfare search engine.

According to Skyscanner, Pobeda was ranked in fourth place among airlines worldwide, above leading budget airlines like Ryanair, Air Asia and Wizz Air.

The rating of top airlines was compiled based upon reviews and voting from Skyscanner customers worldwide, and focussed on on-time departures and arrivals, price transparency and absence of hidden fees, as well as convenience of online booking. The rating did not take into consideration additional amenities or services typically offered by premium air carriers.

“Placing fourth in Skyscanner’s global rating is the result of successful teamwork by Aeroflot Group, Pobeda CEO Andrey Kalmykov, Pobeda employees, as well as Aeroflot senior executives, many of whom are on the Board of Directors of Pobeda Airlines,” said Vitaly Saveliev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pobeda and CEO of Aeroflot. “This is further proof that Pobeda is Russia’s first true budget airline, and that it is playing a significant role in reshaping the Russian air transport sector.”

Pobeda Airlines carried out its maiden flight on 1 December 2014. In June 2015 Pobeda transported its one millionth passenger, and at the end of the first quarter of 2015 it was already ranked among the top 10 Russian airlines by passenger traffic.
