Aeroflot wins “Transport Industry IT-project of the year” Award at the CNews AWARDS 2018

Moscow, Russia, 2018-Nov-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Aeroflot has received a prestigious award at the CNews AWARDS 2018.  The “Transport Industry IT-project of the year” Award was given to Aeroflot for the successful implementation of the new air service distribution standard NDC developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The NDC (New Distribution Capability) provides a direct sales channel involving agencies and search engines, significantly enhancing efficiency and passenger experience.

The NDC standard allows for high personalization with a focus on each passenger’s preferences and capabilities. A client receives comprehensive description of the airline’s products instead of basic information:  age of the aircraft, cabin configuration, full list of tariffs and additional services. This allows the passenger to make better informed decisions when planning a trip.

The NDC allows clients to choose from the entire range of the airline’s additional services and tariffs that can be purchased directly through the metasearch engines and agent portals connected to the Aeroflot NDC gateway. At the same time, it allows the airline to assist clients.

At the end of 2017, Aeroflot received the highest Level 3 status under the NDC programme developed by IATA. This achievement was made possible due to the full automation of business processes at the leading Russian airline, which consistently ranks fourth in digitalization among global air carriers according to strategy consulting agency Bain & Company. Active implementation of cutting-edge IT-solutions, including artificial intelligence, is one of the key priorities of Aeroflot’s Strategy-2023.

Aeroflot has previously already been recognised by CNews AWARDS that identifies the best companies in the field of information and communication technologies. In 2016, Aeroflot won CNews IT Award for Data Processing Centre of the Year.
