Aberdeen International Airport welcomes Steve Szalay as its new Managing Director

Aberdeen, UK, 2018-Nov-06 — /Travel PR News/ — Aberdeen International Airport has today (Monday 5 November 2018) confirmed it has appointed Steve Szalay as its new Managing Director.

A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Mr Szalay went on to hold a series of senior executive roles within the aviation sector including positions with UK airline Jet2.com and global ground handling company dnata.

Both roles saw Mr Szalay work across a number of airports including Heathrow, Europe’s largest airport, and Gatwick. He will officially take up his position at Aberdeen on Tuesday 13 November.

Mr Szalay will work closely with Derek Provan, Chief Executive of Aberdeen’s parent company AGS, to further build on the success of the airport which is in the midst of the third and final phase of its comprehensive terminal transformation programme.

Commenting on the appointment, Derek Provan said: “Over the course of the past three months we conducted an extensive recruitment process to identify the right individual to take Aberdeen International Airport forward.

“In Steve we have recruited someone who is not only well regarded within the industry but, crucially, has extensive experience of working with an array of airlines, ground handling companies and airports. Together with the team at Aberdeen, I’m looking forward to welcoming Steve on board.”
