Jackson Hole, U.S.A., 2017-Apr-28 — /Travel PR News/ — Surrounded by the Tetons and only minutes away from the entrance to Grand Teton National Park, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole is taking the guest experience to a new, local level. Four Seasons announces a new volunteer opportunity this summer with Grand Teton National Park and Grand Teton National Park Foundation, in the Trail Stewardship program.
The Trail Stewardship program is a complimentary experience and includes a half day in Grand Teton National Park helping to clean up and maintain the trail system. Work involves trail maintenance with light to moderate physical activity. All ages and skills are welcome, and tools are provided. Four Seasons guests who sign up for this experience will have access to the Mercedez GL Four Seasons house car and enjoy a customised picnic including house-made energy bars, jerky, and more.
“We are really excited to offer this experience to our guests,” says Michael Mestraud, General Manager. “It really speaks to a sense of place and giving back to the surrounding area, which so many come to enjoy. I can’t wait to get my tool belt out this summer!”
The idea for the collaboration was born after Grand Teton National Park Foundation started restoration efforts on the Jenny Lake trail system, the lakeshore and the interpretive plaza. The project is a multi-year, USD 18 million public-private renewal project designed to temper the impact of countless visitors who have come to enjoy the Tetons and Jenny Lake. The work involves rebuilding trails to help endure summer foot traffic and mountain winters. Efforts for the Jenny Lake renewal include realigning paths away from sensitive areas, reclaiming overrun and worn-out areas, adding accessible areas, strengthening bridges and retaining walls, and providing interpretive information and improved front-country services intended to educate and orient visitors to the landscape before them.
Guest can sign up for this day experience directly through the concierge desk or in advance by calling the Resort prior to their arrival at 307 732 5188. A 72-hour advance notice is required as cars are only available on first come, first serve basis.
