2012-12-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), the national trade association representing all sectors and stakeholders in the lodging industry, is seeking nominations for the 2013 Stars of the Industry Awards competition. The competition recognizes employee and lodging property achievement in 11 categories, including Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year, Outstanding General Manager of the Year, and Technology Innovation of the Year.
More than half of AH&LA’s partner state associations (PSAs) host competitions, and these state winners are forwarded to AH&LA for consideration for the national awards. In some cases, the PSAs do not offer awards in the same categories as those in the national competition. In those instances, as well as for those PSAs with no state awards programs, nominations should be submitted directly to AH&LA no later than February 15, 2013.
“The Stars of the Industry Awards program is an outstanding way of recognizing employees and properties who strive for excellence by going above and beyond what is expected,” said Joe McInerney, AH&LA president/CEO. “Receiving this prestigious award is a great motivator for lodging industry employees, and it’s a tremendous way for general managers and other leaders to showcase the high caliber of men and women working in today’s lodging industry.”
