
IHG Strengthens UK&I Luxury Conversion Growth with Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG
(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG, marking the luxury conversion brand’s first property in London and IHG’s debut in Canary Wharf. Developed with Yianis Group, the 142-room hotel is scheduled to open in summer 2026 and will offer guestrooms and suites with views over the River Thames and the City, as well as a restaurant and bar, meeting and events space for up to 200 guests, and access to an adjacent health club and spa. Developed in partnership with Yianis Group, the property will become the second Vignette Collection hotel in the UK and Ireland and is scheduled to open in summer 2026. The signing strengthens IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in the UK capital while extending the momentum of Vignette Collection across key gateway destinations.
Located in Canary Wharf, one of London’s most prominent financial and professional services districts, Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG will offer 142 guestrooms and suites with views across the River Thames and the City. The hotel will also feature a restaurant and bar, flexible meeting and events space for up to 200 guests, and access to an adjacent health club and spa.
The property is positioned to serve both corporate and leisure travellers, benefiting from strong transport links across London and connections to major international gateways. Canary Wharf continues to evolve beyond its established business identity into a wider commercial and lifestyle destination, making it a strategic location for IHG’s luxury conversion brand.

In four years, the brand has passed the halfway point toward its goal of reaching 100 hotels within a decade, with 34 hotels open and a further 45 in the global pipeline as of March 31, 2026.
The London signing also reflects IHG’s continued strength in hotel conversions. In the UK and Ireland, conversions accounted for 74% of IHG openings and 100% of signings during the first quarter of 2026.
Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG will join a growing European portfolio for the brand, which currently includes six open hotels and 17 properties in the pipeline across the region. Recent signings include Hotel Schloss Reinhartshausen, Vignette Collection in Germany, and The Venice Times, Vignette Collection in Italy.
The property will further strengthen IHG’s position in the UK and Ireland, where it is the largest global hotel company, operating 384 hotels and with another 28 in development as of March 31, 2026.
