1,400 participants and 10,000 Calgarians to celebrate Calgary Airport’s New Runway

CALGARY, 2014-04-30 — /Travel PR News/ — Registration for Run and Roam the Runway, a weekend festival hosted by The Calgary Airport Authority in celebration of the opening of Canada’s newest runway, is now full. Thanks to the overwhelming support of Calgarians, the two-day event filled up just one week after registration opened to the public. The June 14 fun run will see 1,400 participants run or walk the longest runway in Canada and 10,000 Calgarians will be roaming the runway on June 15.

The celebratory festival will feature 5 and 8.4 kilometre options for the fun run and a day full of family-friendly activities and entertainment on Roam day. This once-in-a-lifetime chance to roam the new runway will feature a number of vintage and commercial airplanes, as well as specialty items from YYC Food Trucks.

“We would like to thank Calgarians for their enthusiasm and support in joining us as we celebrate the new runway,” said Jody Moseley, Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing for The Calgary Airport Authority. “We are excited to share this unique experience with the Calgary community and celebrate our growth as a major Canadian hub.”
