Walking in a Winter Wildlights Land at the Columbus Zoo

POWELL, Ohio – 2012-11-09 — /travelprnews.com/ — We’ve decked the halls, trees and everything but the animals with millions of LED lights for the 24th annual Wildlights display, efficiently powered AEP Ohio, beginning Nov. 16, 2012.

With a newly energized Global Celebrations Holiday Light Show, Wildlights will delight guests of all ages. New attractions and old favorites will decorate the Zoo during the holiday season. Animated light stars, Rodney Reindeer and Wally Walrus, are back to read “Twas the Night Before Wildlights” as guests stroll to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in their holiday home.

Global Celebrations Village, new to Wildlights, pays tribute to those who celebrate the season around the globe. Located in The Naomi Coyle Dempsey Quest for Enlightenment Interpretive Center in Asia Quest, this new addition features 192 flags from countries in the United Nation, 8 animated international carolers and music to make the season bright.

Habitat Hollow hosts more holiday fun! Learn about holiday traditions and enter to win prizes, including tickets to Disney on Ice Treasure Trove, at the Yuletide Traditions Treasure Hunt at My House. After your visit, relax and take a ride on the Bob
Evans Polar Bear Express ($1per rider) or on a Mini Kiddie Sleigh Ride ($4per rider).

Wildlights festivities take place Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. beginning Nov. 16, 2012 through Jan. 1, 2013. Wildlights is closed the evenings of Nov. 22, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. Regular admission rates apply.
