Chicago, 2013-01-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — United Airlines today announced the opening of its new employee health clinic at O’Hare International Airport. Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Commissioner
Rosemarie S. Andolino joined with United’s Chairman, President and CEO Jeff Smisek and Walgreens President and CEO Greg Wasson for the clinic’s ribbon cutting ceremony this morning.
“We’re continuing to make significant investments in United, including investments in our co-workers,” said Smisek. “This clinic will offer convenient health services at no charge to keep our co-workers feeling and performing well.”
The clinic, managed by Walgreens, will serve a broad scope of United Airlines employees’ health needs, such as urgent care for routine illness, immunizations, prepackaged medications, and job-related physical training at no cost to employees.
“United’s new clinic is in line with Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s mission to encourage healthy habits for Chicago residents,” said Andolino. “This facility further demonstrates United’s commitment to its employees and investment here at O’Hare.”
The 5,200-square-foot facility is located in O’Hare’s Terminal 2 arrivals area. The clinic’s health care services are available to all United employees, including more than 10,000 workers in the Chicago area.
The workplace health clinic at O’Hare is the fifth of its kind for United, which are all managed by Walgreens.
“More employers are recognizing the benefits of worksite health centers and wellness programs to improve the overall health, satisfaction and productivity of their employees, while also reducing costs,” said Walgreens President and CEO Greg Wasson. “This project brings together two companies with deep Chicago roots to make health and wellness a top priority.”
