  • Supervisory Board Chairman Dr Dieter Zetsche: “TUI’s transformation into a digital and platform organization is associated with enormous opportunities that will strengthen our long-term position. We look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship with Fritz Joussen as CEO.”

Berlin, Germany, 2019-Dec-18 — /Travel PR News/ — The TUI AG Supervisory Board has reappointed Fritz Joussen as CEO until 2025. His current contract was extended for a further five years ending 30 September 2025.

Fritz Joussen joined the TUI Executive Board in October 2012 and has been CEO of TUI Group since February 2013.

The merger and integration of the former British company TUI Travel took place under his leadership. During the past five years TUI has successfully evolved from traditional tour operator to the world’s leading integrated tourism group with its own hotel portfolio, cruise lines and airlines. All business segments are strongly aligned with the TUI umbrella brand. The Group is developing new digital businesses and targeting new markets in Southeast Asia and South America with its digital strategy. The transition to a digital company has begun and will be accelerated over the next few years. Today’s TUI is not the TUI of five years ago.

TUI is in excellent shape, delivering good margins and driving growth with a clear digital strategy. The transformation into a digital and platform organization is associated with enormous opportunities and will strengthen our long-term position. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Fritz Joussen as our CEO for another five years,” said Supervisory Board Chairman, Dr Dieter Zetsche.
