TRANSASIA AIRWAYS’ CHAIRMAN NAMED AS 2013 EISENHOWER FELLOW

Singapore, 2012-11-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — Mr Vincent M. Lin, Chairman of TransAsia Airways, was named one of 2013 Eisenhower Fellows by Eisenhower Fellowships. He is among 22 other outstanding winners around the world to receive this honor.

Eisenhower Fellowships engage mid-career (age 32-45) professionals from around the world with 5-10 years of leadership experience to enhance their leadership skills, broaden their network of contacts, and deepen their global perspectives.

Appointed as Chairman in 2010, since then TransAsia Airways has completed the successful transition to a recognized international airline. Vincent has brought the Airline go public in 2011, which helped to attract global investors and more capital to fund its expansion plans in terms of both destination network and fleet capacity.

“This is a tremendous honor to be selected for 2013 Eisenhower Fellowships.” said Vincent, “It is an encouraging recognition for me to continue working hard and I’m looking forward to take this rare opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best airlines, to explore partnerships, and to bring back the best knowledge to Taiwan and TransAsia Airways.”

As part of Vincent’s fellowship, he will spend seven weeks in the US for an intensive individualized professional program, which will offer him consultations with industry experts and senior government officials. Vincent will visit five of the leading American airlines, including United Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Airways, American Airlines and Southwest Airline, as well as other relevant government and aviation industry players, including Federal Aviation Administration, NTSB, National Transportation Safety Board, Boeing and General Electric.

Vincent will also visit farm resorts in North California to study their experience, in preparation for his Company’s venture into hospitality industry.

Eisenhower Fellowships is a private, non-profit and non-partisan organization seeking to foster international understanding and leadership through the exchange of information, ideas and perspectives among leaders throughout the world. Established in 1953 as a birthday tribute to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the organization has sponsored more than 2,000 fellows from 108 countries, of which 48 are from Taiwan.
