Austrian Airlines: Third Boeing 777 takes off with new long-haul cabin

2013-04-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — Having undergone a successful test flight and received approval from the authorities, the third Austrian long-haul aircraft of the type Boeing 777 takes off for its maiden flight tomorrow, April 5th 2013, bearing the registration OE-LPC, displaying the logo of the 2013 Life Ball and equipped with the completely refurbished long-haul cabin. The flight is due to start from Vienna, with the destination Tokyo. The entire B777 fleet is expected to have been converted to the new cabin by the beginning of May 2013. In Economy Class, passengers can enjoy a completely new level of seating comfort on long-haul flights. In Business Class, new seats will feature intuitive operation, a massage function and extra storage space. These offer an outstanding level of comfort when lying down, as the seats are equipped with an innovative air-cushion system and can be converted to fully-flat beds.

Austrian Airlines has specially branded the refurbished aircraft with the logo of the Life Ball, with financial support from Wien Tourismus. The aircraft displaying the Red Ribbon, logo of the Life Ball, will carry numerous international Life Ball guests from New York to Vienna on May 24, 2013. Austrian Airlines recognises its broader responsibilities towards society, and supports a wide range of charitable and socially-minded organisations, institutions and projects of global relevance.
