TAP increases services for Winter 2021/22

Lisbon, Portugal, 2021-Sep-03 — /Travel PR News/ — TAP will have 91 more weekly flights in December than its current peak summer offer.

Next  winter, TAP will operate 91 more flights per week than those it currently offers in the summer peak, traditionally one of the most busiest periods for airlines.

TAP’s flight plan for the IATA Winter, which starts on October 31st and runs until March 26th 2022, expects, in the peak period of operations scheduled by the airline, a total of 941 round trip flights per week, 91 more than the 850 the Company is offering this summer.

This increase in TAP’s offer at the peak of winter foresees the recovery of travel demand, in line with international projections for the sector and contributing to the company’s prospects for operational and economic recovery.

TAP will carry out 101 flights per week departing from Porto, directly connecting the city to Lisbon, Funchal, London, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, New York, Rio de Janeiro and S. Paulo.

Madeira will benefit from 49 flights per week to Lisbon and Porto. Ponta Delgada will have 15 flights a week to Lisbon and Terceira, seven flights a week to the capital. Faro will have 21 weekly flights to Lisbon.

In total, TAP will connect Portugal to 37 cities in Europe, with 585 round trip flights per week. Direct weekly connections to Africa and the Middle East will total 93 flights to 15 destinations.

In the United States of America, Mexico and Canada, TAP will reinstate operations on all routes on which it already operated before the pandemic, with a total of 59 flights per week on 11 routes – Boston, Newark (departing from Lisbon and Porto), Washington, New York (JFK), Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Montreal and Toronto (Canada) and Cancun (Mexico).

To Brazil, the carrier will offer 52 weekly flights on the 12 routes it will operate this winter and, finally, to Venezuela, will carry out one flight a week.

Also a reference for TAP’s news for this IATA winter, the already announced inauguration of regular flights from Lisbon to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, with an offer of three weekly connections.

TAP continues to consolidate and diversify its operation at the Lisbon hub, offering customers more and more options for destinations and travel and also increasing its offer at other national airports.

With the increase in operations scheduled for this winter, TAP is also reinforcing its role in fueling the Portuguese economy, promoting the arrival of tourists from all over the world and stimulating the tourism sector.

At the same time, the Company also ensures, in periods as significant as Christmas and New Year, the trips of Portuguese communities, reuniting families from around the world.

Note: IATA winter flights started to be loaded into the booking system today and will be available in full on September 10th.
