Prague, 8th October 2012
The event in Prague was held in Obcanska Restaurant from 1700hrs to 2200hrs and was attended by 80 tour operators. The event was started by opening remarks of Mr. Mohamed Maleeh Jamal – deputy Minister of Tourism Arts & Culture followed by destination presentation by Mr. Najumulla Shareef – Senior Marketing Officer of MMPRC. The biggest event in the road show was the B2B meeting conducted between 10 Travel agents from Maldives and 80 Tour operators from Czech Republic.
Warsaw, 9th October 2012
The event in Warsaw was held in Intercontinental Warsaw from 1700hrs to 2200hrs and was attended by 80 tour operators. The event was started by opening remarks of Mr. Mohamed Maleeh Jamal – deputy Minister of Tourism Arts & Culture followed by destination presentation by Mr. Najumulla Shareef – Senior Marketing Officer of MMPRC. The biggest event in the road show was the destination presentation of the travel agents from Maldives and followed by B2B meeting conducted between 9 Travel agents from Maldives and 80 Tour operators from Czech Republic.
Kiev, 11th October 2012
The event in Kiev was held in Radision Blu from 1600hrs to 2300hrs and was attended by 60 tour operators. The event was started by opening remarks of Mr. Mohamed Maleeh Jamal – deputy Minister of Tourism Arts & Culture followed by destination presentation by Mr. Najumulla Shareef – Senior Marketing Officer of MMPRC. The biggest event in the road show was B2B meeting conducted between 9 Travel agents from Maldives and 60 Tour operators from Czech Republic.
Meeting with Tourism Minister of Ukraine
Maldives delegation represented by Mr. Mohamed Maleeh Jamal – Deputy Minister of Tourism Arts & Culture, Mr. Mohamed Khaleel – President of Maldives Association of Travel agents and Mr. Najumulla Shareef from MMPRC met Ms. Olena Shapovalova – Chairman of State Agency of Ukraine Tourism & Resorts held a meeting on 11th October 2012.
The main discussion of the meeting was to increase the collaboration of the tourism staked holders specially the travel agents in the Maldives and tour operators of Ukraine through bi-lateral Memorandum of understanding. The MOU would facilitate and support of the ministry to establish direct business relations between Travel agents in the Maldives and counter partners in Ukraine.
During the road shows the representatives managed to meet the travel trade and brief about the Maldives to create awareness in B2C segment.
The participants of the road show expressed their opinion on the success of the shows and believed this road show would increase the business in the future. The arrivals from these immerging markets showed potentials growth at the end of 2011. At the end of last year Maldives received 6471 tourists from Czech Republic, 4158 tourists from Poland and 6729 tourists from Ukraine.
