(IN SHORT) On June 24, 2025, Spirit Airlines announced new names for its fare bundles to enhance clarity and simplify booking choices. The carrier’s premium offerings are now Spirit First (formerly Go Big) and Premium Economy (formerly Go Comfy), while its budget-focused option is Value (formerly Go). Spirit First includes Big Front Seat®, complimentary baggage, priority services, and complimentary refreshments with Wi-Fi; Premium Economy provides extra legroom or a blocked middle seat, carry-on baggage, and priority boarding, with extra-legroom seats rolling out July 9, 2025; Value offers the lowest base fare with add-on services sold à la carte. The Go Savvy bundle will be phased out, with existing bookings honored. These changes coincide with upgrades to the Free Spirit loyalty program and follow a record high net promoter score in 2025. Spirit also celebrated multiple industry awards, including WalletHub’s Best Airline Overall 2025 and APEX’s Four Star Low Cost Carrier designation.
(PRESS RELEASE) DANIA BEACH, FL, 2025-Jun-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Spirit Airlines (NYSE American: FLYY) has streamlined its fare offerings by renaming its signature travel bundles to make choice and value even clearer. Effective immediately, passengers seeking an elevated journey can opt for Spirit First or Premium Economy, while travelers prioritizing budget and flexibility can select Value.
“By clarifying our fare tiers, we’re helping guests quickly compare options and appreciate the outstanding value Spirit delivers,” explained Rana Ghosh, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Spirit Airlines. “Our Big Front Seat has long been an insider secret—these new names will help more travelers discover how affordably they can upgrade to a premium experience.”
The updated fare categories, bookable now on spirit.com and via the Spirit mobile app, include:
Spirit First (formerly Go Big) which bundles a Big Front Seat®, complimentary carry-on and first checked bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Check-In and Boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, free snacks and beverages (including alcohol), and access to high-speed streaming Wi-Fi.
Premium Economy (formerly Go Comfy) offering extra legroom in a Premium Seat or a blocked middle seat, one carry-on bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Boarding, and reserved overhead bin space. Starting July 9, 2025, Spirit will introduce extra-legroom seats—seven rows (over 40 seats) at the front of each aircraft—and phase out the blocked middle seat option.
Value (formerly Go) delivering the lowest base fares with à la carte add-ons; passengers can purchase seat assignments, carry-on and checked baggage, and other amenities as desired.
In direct response to guest feedback, Spirit will retire its Go Savvy bundle but honor all existing Go Savvy reservations.
These naming changes build on Spirit’s broader guest-experience initiatives, including enhancements to the Free Spirit loyalty program. Reflecting those efforts, Spirit’s net promoter score (NPS) reached a record high in 2025.
