Southwest Airlines Marks 10th Year of Meals on Wheels Blitz Day with $10,000 Donation

(IN SHORT) Southwest Airlines recently celebrated a decade of their Meals on Wheels Blitz Day in partnership with the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) by hosting a special event in Dallas. Over 300 Southwest Airlines employees took part in the event, delivering meals along 140 different routes across the city to support the VNA and its Meals on Wheels program, which has been serving seniors and homebound individuals for 50 years. To commemorate this milestone, Southwest Airlines made a generous donation of $10,000 to further assist the Meals on Wheels initiative. Southwest’s commitment to volunteerism and community engagement reflects its culture of caring and the company’s dedication to connecting people to what matters most in their lives. In recognition of this legacy and spirit of giving, November was declared “Heart in Action Month” at Southwest Airlines.

(PRESS RELEASE) DALLAS, TX, 2023-Nov-10— /Travel PR News/ —Southwest Airlines hosted a Meals on Wheels Blitz Day with over 300 Employees serving on the ground and 140 routes that made their way around Dallas to Support the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA). In celebration of 50 years of the Meals on Wheels program and in honor of 10 years of Southwest’s MOW Blitz Day, the Company made a donation of $10,000 to further support Meals on Wheels.

Southwest Airlines Employees have been volunteering with the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Meals on Wheels program for nearly 20 years. Over the years, Southwest Employees have loaded up cars and blitzed Dallas County, delivering more than 15,000 meals (on 1,200 routes) to seniors and house-bound clients.  For over 52 years, our Employees have put their Heart in all they do through volunteerism, acts of kindness, and giving back. To honor this legacy and celebrate the Culture of caring that has been cultivated at Southwest, the Company declared this November Heart in Action Month.
