2013-02-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — Listen up, Denver—this is the last call to lace up your skates and take to the ice at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park, which will stay open through Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2013.  Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) is showing its “LUV” for Denver once again by offering “14 Days of LUV”—giving away two roundtrip tickets today through Valentine’s Day to skaters through a daily random drawing.  Closing day festivities on Valentine’s Day will include free skate rentals, a fun photo booth, a live DJ, and two roundtrip ticket giveaways.

“Every year we see more of our community getting involved in the amazing programming offered at the Southwest Rink,” said Tami Door, President and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership. “The skating rink has provided countless opportunities for families, residents and employees to get outside, enjoy Downtown and create amazing memories.  The support that Southwest Airlines has shown Denver is incredible, and they have offered so much to our center city and we are very grateful for that.”

“Once again, the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park has been a fun way for us to engage in the community and participate in a beloved tradition in Downtown Denver,” said Linda Rutherford, Southwest Airlines Vice President Communication and Strategic Outreach.  “We’re absolutely thrilled that more than 40,000 skaters have come out to the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park this year, and we hope even more Denverites will take to the ice these last two weeks and enter for their chance to win a trip on Southwest Airlines!”

The Southwest Rink at Skyline Park is open seven days a week and is located in Skyline Park next to the historic Daniels and Fisher Clocktower near the intersection of 16th Street and Arapahoe and will remain open through Feb. 14, 2013.  Skating is free to the public with the option to bring skates or rent a pair for $2.  Skaters can still enjoy the Friday night DJ, Saturday morning “Learn to Skate” sessions, Saturday night live entertainment, and Sunday family-focused fun.  The Rink is made possible by a public-private partnership among the DDP, City of Denver Parks and Recreation Department, and Southwest Airlines.  Visit www.southwestrink.com for more information.
