SJC welcomes new Delta Air Lines’ nonstop service between New York and Silicon Valley

No. 1 Requested Domestic Route by Business and Leisure Travelers; Five SJC Carriers Now Offer Nonstop Flights from SJC to New York-Area Airports

San José, CA, 2018-Jun-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Delta Air Lines today (June 8, 2018) began flying nonstop between New York’s John Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Mineta San José International Airport (SJC). Delta’s new service is in response to strong passenger demand for more nonstop service to the New York City area, the No. 1 requested U.S. destination by SJC travelers.

“New York is the most sought-after destination for Silicon Valley business and leisure travelers, and we warmly welcome Delta Air Lines’ new nonstop flight to JFK,” said SJC’s Director of Aviation John Aitken. “We thank Delta for their confidence and investment in Silicon Valley’s airport and see this service is already being embraced by our community on the inaugural day with full inbound and outbound flights.”

Delta’s SJC-JFK service operates using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, equipped with on-demand entertainment, power ports and in-flight Wi-Fi access at every seat. The seating configuration is 16 in First Class, 36 in Comfort+ and 108 in the main cabin.

“We’ve heard loud and clear from our Bay Area customers that nonstop service to New York City is important to them, and we’re pleased to offer this new daily flight,” said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Vice President, Los Angeles and Sales-West. “In addition to New York City access, this flight enables convenient connections to dozens of cities at our JFK hub to the Northeast and internationally.”
