Airport Boulevard Illuminates ‘60 Years of Homecoming’

Ahead of the walk, Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow officiated the launch of the SG60 light-up, joined by Yam Kum Weng, CEO of CAG, and Jayson Goh. The display, titled ‘60 Years of Homecoming,’ stretches along Airport Boulevard, featuring a breathtaking collection of Singaporean icons such as the Merlion, Gardens by the Bay, the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground, and the Changi Control Tower. More than 100 kilometres of LED lights create this striking showcase, crowned by a majestic arch in Singapore’s national colours. The light-up will remain on display until year-end, offering both residents and travellers a warm, patriotic welcome.

A Charity Walk Full of Nostalgia and Fun

The scenic two-kilometre Charity Walk, starting from Terminal 2’s Race Village, was designed to spark nostalgia. Participants enjoyed glow sticks, interactive trivia, and photo opportunities with quirky local food-themed installations like kueh lapis, curry puffs, and durians. Traditional treats such as colourful iced gem biscuits and ice cream sandwiches added a delightful old-school touch, while finishers at Terminal 4 received commemorative medallions and SG60 plush keychains featuring Buddy Bear or Mr Merlion. For those seeking an extra thrill, the route extended to the Jurassic Mile with dinosaur-themed light installations and a hidden checkpoint for an Instagram-worthy finale.

The 270sqm garden in Terminal 3’s Departure Hall pays homage to Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, through a stunning seven-metre centrepiece.
