Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said:

“We are pleased to launch our 2017 Manchesterwinter schedule, which includes 4 new routes to Cologne, Frankfurt, Seville and Kiev, our first UK-Ukraine route, a new winter service to Naples and 39 routes in total, which will deliver 4.5m customers p.a. and support 3,375* jobs at Manchester Airport. These new routes will go on sale on the Ryanair.com website today as we continue to grow our Manchester traffic, tourism and jobs.

We are also pleased to report record bookings on our Manchester summer 2017 schedule and customers can look forward to even lower fares so there’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair. We urge all customers who wish to book their holidays to do so now on the Ryanair.com website or mobile app, where they can avail of the lowest fare air travel to and from Manchester.

The UK Government last week missed a golden tourism opportunity in the Spring Budget by retaining APD. We urge the Government to follow the Irish example and scrap APD entirely to allow traffic, tourism and jobs to grow and ensure UK regional airports can compete and attract more business, particularly with in the face of Brexit uncertainty. Taxing tourists at the point of entry simply makes countries less attractive to airlines and visitors, particularly for regional UK airports.

To celebrate the launch of our Manchester winter 2017 schedule we are releasing seats for sale across our European network from just £9.99, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday (16 Mar). Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”

Manchester Airport Commercial Director, Stephen Turner said:

“It is great to see Ryanair launch its winter programme with the addition of four new routes from Manchester Airport. I am sure all four destinations will prove popular with the 22m passengers in our catchment area that spans north to the Scottish Borders, south to the Midlands, west to Wales and Merseyside, and east across Yorkshire. Ryanair continues to grow and grow from Manchester, the global gateway for the North, and we look forward to working closely with them as they deliver more and more passengers.”
