DOHA, Qatar, 2019-Oct-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways was delighted and honoured to host LATAM Airlines Group’s board of directors and senior management in Doha between 13 and 15 October. During the three-day visit, LATAM’s board members and senior management toured Qatar Airways’ state-of-the-art technical facilities and Hamad International Airport’s award-winning lounges.
As part of the visit, Qatar Airways announced an expanded codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines Brazil, with immediate effect. The bilateral codeshare will provide Qatar Airways passengers with connections to destinations throughout Brazil and South America including Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Curitiba, Lima and Bogota to name a few.
LATAM passengers will also be able to travel on Qatar Airways’ flights between Sao Paulo (GRU) and Doha (DOH), offering onward connections to more than 25 destinations in the Middle-East, East Africa and South Asia, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.
Qatar Airways first began flying to Brazil in 2010 with a service from Doha, Qatar to Sao Paulo, Brazil that connects onwards to Buenos Aires, Argentina. In August 2017, Qatar Airways announced a unilateral codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines Brazil, expanding Qatar Airways’ virtual network in Brazil.
