New York City, New York, United States, 2019-May-17 — /Travel PR News/ — A career awareness event, sponsored by the Port of New York and New Jersey’s Council on Port Performance, will be held on Wednesday, May 15.
The event will provide students, who are undecided about a career path, the opportunity to explore a variety of opportunities in the maritime industry and information about the options for secondary education or job training. Students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the local transportation, logistics and view displays and demonstrations from a wide range of port-related companies and organizations in the fields of seafaring, trucking, terminal operations, law enforcement, and logistics.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port, 4 Port Terminal Boulevard, Bayonne, NJ. Stakeholders and business partners include New York Shipping Association, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Ports America, Seafarers International Union, Council on Airport Opportunity, Prologis, Smith & Solomon, the Gateway Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration.
Port Authority representatives also will be available to discuss the broad range of jobs and career options available in the maritime transportation, logistics and distribution industries.
