BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, 2016-Jun-09 — /Travel PR News/ — From Wednesday 8 June, passengers travelling to and from Brussels Airport by train can again make use of the new train station that gives direct access to the terminal. For the train travellers this means a considerable improvement in comfort. They can again take the escalators or elevators to the arrivals or departures hall, just as they could before 22 March.
On 22 April, train traffic to the airport was resumed as before. Passengers, however, had to make use of the old station, because the exit of the new station leads into the damaged departure hall.
Pre-screening of passengers in the train station
In consultation with the federal police and Brussels Airport Company, additional security measures imposed by the federal government, are being implemented in the new train station.
Passengers arriving by train, in common with all other visitors, will have to pass through the pre-screening organised by the security services before they are admitted to the departure hall. This pre-screening is expected to cause only minimal disturbance to the passengers.
Wide range of train services to the airport
The train remains one of the fastest and most convenient ways of reaching Brussels Airport.
There is a direct connection with Brussels Airport – Zaventem station from no less than 82 stations. During the working week, twelve trains an hour stop at the airport; during the weekend, ten trains an hour stop there.
The complete timetable can be found on the website www.belgianrail.be or you can use the free NMBS app.
