This 2,380-ft green wall (roughly the same size of a tennis court), is located at PNC’s headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh and made from 602 panels of soil and plants. Materials for the wall have all been sourced within a 500-mile radius, and the eight varieties of plants also come from southwest Pennsylvania. Blooming year round, textures of the wall changes with the seasons and despite harboring so many plants, the wall requires just 15 minutes of watering per week from the top that trickles down.

Matsumoto Museum of Art
Matsumoto Museum of Art’s most popular attraction is their permanent Yayoi Kusama works. Kusama was born in 1929 in Matsumoto and is internationally known for her hallmark bright and vivid polka dot pieces that include one of her most famous works, Pumpkin, on Naoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture. From a young age, Kusama suffered from polka dot-strewn hallucinations, so as a coping mechanism, she began to recreate these visions, which have come to define her work. As visitors approach the Matsumoto City Museum of Art, they are greeted by a psychedelic installation of green stalked giant, twisting tulips and the museum’s polka-dotted facade – a small taste of what awaits inside.
