2012-11-20 — /travelprnews.com/ — A new southbound Sunday service is being introduced by Eastern Airways on the Leeds Bradford – Aberdeen route, as well as a retiming for northbound Sunday flights.
The UK’s second largest regional airline will offer passengers more choice with Sunday flights starting from 18 November 2012 and will complement the newly timed northbound Sunday service and the existing two flights each weekday.
Eastern Airways’ Sunday southbound service will benefit leisure travellers but also business commuters heading to Yorkshire for an early start on Monday mornings. The newly timed northbound service to Aberdeen at 7.15pm offers a much more convenient later departure from Leeds Bradford Airport.
The new Sunday service will depart from Aberdeen at 5.35pm arriving in Leeds Bradford at 6.45pm. The newly timed flight leaves Leeds Bradford at 7.15pm landing in Aberdeen at 8.25pm.
Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways commercial director, said: “We’re offering passengers greater flexibility and choice with a new southbound Sunday service from Aberdeen to Leeds Bradford and a conveniently retimed northbound service. Flights on Sundays will not only appeal to leisure travellers visiting Yorkshire or north east Scotland but also those travelling ready for business on a Monday morning.”
Tony Hallwood, commercial director of Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “Leeds Bradford welcomes the additional flexibility that this new Sunday Eastern Airways’ flight frequency will offer to business travellers connecting Aberdeen and North East Scotland with Leeds and Yorkshire.”
A fast track security channel is available at Leeds Bradford and Aberdeen airports for all Eastern Airways passengers to avoid any queues at security search, which also enables the airline to close check-in just 30 minutes before the departure time. All Eastern Airways passengers have access to a dedicated business lounge at Aberdeen Airport. Passengers flying with the airline are not charged for check-in, baggage, choice of seat or onboard drinks and snacks.
Eastern Airways has been operating from Leeds Bradford since 2003 and also offers daily flights to Bristol from the airport.
