More Than 120 Tequilas Now Available at El Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico DF

Special tasting flight allows novices and connoisseurs alike to sample Mexico’s finest

México, D.F., Mexico – 2012-10-25 — /travelprnews.com/ — For the widest variety of 100 percent agave tequilas and mezcals in Mexico City, there’s no better place than El Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Mexico DF.

Tequila is the Mexican drink par excellence. Brands such as Gran Patrón Platinum, Dobel Diamante, Reserva de la Familia, Don Julio Real and Casa Dragones are only some of the great bottles that are offered in El Bar, not to mention others such as Don Julio 1942 and 7 Leguas Añejo, among others. The variety includes white, aged and vintage tequilas to reach a number of more than 120 different types of tequila.

It is an elixir that distils traditions; to drink tequila is to ingest stories. To drink it is to enter into a world of legends and traditions. Choosing a tequila is not easy when the variety is such, and although everyone has a favourite, it is always an adventure to try a new tequila and discover its flavour and aroma. Some people enjoy it with lemon and salt but the true connoisseurs drink it straight, to be able to better identify its purity. Usually it is served in a tequila shot glass, a cylindrical glass with the base narrower than the mouth.

El Bar at Four Seasons offers a tasting of three tequilas at a very reasonable price – one white, one aged and one vintage, which is a wonderful opportunity for those who are new to this beverage as the waiters of El Bar explain the differences between each one of them.

Tequila is a distillate from the municipality of Tequila in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. It is made from the fermentation and distillation like mezcal, with juice extracted from the agave, in particular blue agave(agave tequilana) with designation of origin in five states of Mexico.

Certainly the most well-known and representative drink of Mexico, tequila is exported all over the world. To be called tequila, the drink must be made in Mexico and contain at least 51 percent of sugars from the agave, although the purest tequilas contain 100 percent agave. In mixed tequilas, the agave is mixed with corn syrup or sugar cane syrup.

El Bar also offers a full bar menu, live music and a pleasant terrace in the courtyard. After a day of work nothing can be more pleasant than to relax and taste a good tequila or a flavoured cocktail that the bartender of El Bar can prepare with the tequila chosen by the guest.
