Minor Hotels Promotes Key Leadership at Koh Samui and Koh Phangan Properties

Ahmed Asim has been appointed as the General Manager of Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, moving from his role as Resort Manager at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Hotel. Frederic Kolde takes over as General Manager of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, transitioning from his position as Hotel Manager at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. Both leaders bring extensive hospitality experience to their new roles, reflecting Minor Hotels’ commitment to enhancing guest experiences across its properties.

Effective February 2024, Ahmed Asim has been appointed as the new General Manager of Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, while Frederic Kolde assumes the role of General Manager of Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort starting June 1st.

Ahmed Asim transitions to his first General Manager role following a successful tenure as Resort Manager at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Hotel, where he oversaw operations of the 376-room resort, F&B division with 10 outlets, banquet operations, and dining boats. With a career spanning since 2005, Asim began as a butler at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and has held various operational roles across the Maldives and Thailand. He holds a BTEC National Diploma in Hotel Catering and Institutional Operations from Maldives College of Higher Education.

Frederic Kolde joins Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort from Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, where he served as Hotel Manager, responsible for overseeing eight restaurants, 354 guest rooms, banquet operations, and a luxury spa & IV drip bar. Kolde’s career includes leadership roles at Hyatt Hotels in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Beijing, emphasizing his expertise in F&B and hotel management. He holds a Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from eCornell University and brings a wealth of international hospitality experience to his new role.

Mark O’ Sullivan, Vice President of Operations for Bangkok, Samui, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai, expressed confidence in Asim and Kolde’s abilities to excel in their new roles, highlighting their proven leadership skills and contributions to Minor Hotels’ flagship properties in Bangkok.
